Benchmarking the Physical Performance Qualities in Women’s Football: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Across the Performance Scale

A project and research publication in partnership with FIFA

The rapid increase in professionalism within women’s football has been accompanied by a notable increase in the physical intensity of matches. Despite these advancements, there is a gap in the comprehensive and current understanding of the physical performance qualities of women’s football players worldwide across the performance scale.

This project aims to gain insights into various physical qualities through a multifaceted approach, including surveying women’s football practitioners, a systematic review of the current literature, and gathering information from available databases.

This project will provide practitioners with readily available and up-to-date data on the physical profiles of women’s football players.

This report has been created to provide users with full access to the data obtained from the literature, allowing you to benchmark your own athletes against that collected in the research.
