TIDES 2026 Conference: Reimagining Talent in Sport
Leeds Beckett University is proud to host the TIDES 2026 Conference, a major new international event taking place from 10 – 12 June 2026 at the Headingley Campus in Leeds. This immersive two-day gathering brings together leading researchers, practitioners and policymakers to explore fresh ideas and transformative thinking around talent — its meaning, origins and development — in sporting contexts.
Under the unifying theme “Reimagining Talent: People, Places and Possibilities in Sport”, TIDES 2026 will feature dynamic discussions, research presentations, and opportunities for academic exchange across a range of disciplines connected to sport and human performance. Delegates can connect with a global network of professionals and contribute to debates that shape how talent identification and development are understood and practiced worldwide.
Participants are invited to share original research and innovative strategies that challenge conventional thinking and promote new possibilities in talent theory and practice. Early bird registration and discounted group rates are available, and selected ticket types include access to a special pre-conference event for early career researchers and postgraduate students.
Whether you’re an academic, coach, practitioner, or policymaker, TIDES 2026 offers a vibrant platform to network, present and grow professionally in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
